Kyle Shanahan pleased with Robert Griffin III progress

Kyle Shanahan sees Robert Griffin III improving every week.

Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has insisted that quarterback Robert Griffin III is improving week by week.

Shanahan said that he has seen a lot of intelligent play as other NFL teams have looked to target him early in the new season.

"I think he progressed each week," he told the club's official website. "I think he got better each game since the Philly game.

"In terms of last year, I think he was in a lot more situations in these first four games that he wasn't in last year – you know, times where we had to throw it a lot more and go to some more dropback game and he didn't get too many opportunities like that last year. So I thought he did fairly well in those situations and he's gotten better."

RG III has thrown for 1,202 yards and six touchdowns so far this season.
