Robert Griffin III: 'Washington Redskins' 2013 form sucks'

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says that having a 2-5 record this season is trying for the team.

Robert Griffin III has said that winning just two of the first seven games of the 2013 NFL season "sucks".

The Washington Redskins reached the playoffs for the first time in five seasons in 2012, while the quarterback picked up the offensive rookie of the year award.

Griffin told reporters: "It sucks. It's very trying. It's a test. And you're going to be put through tests in your life and you have to decide how you're going to react to them.

"You can react in a negative way or a positive way. I choose to be positive. I don't scream at guys. My way of leading is you have to be positive. If I miss a throw, I know I missed a throw, I'll make that throw for them the next time. That's the approach.

"When you're 2-5 and not where you want to be and have high aspirations, and still do for your season and your team, when things go wrong it can test your character. You have to make sure your character stays strong and that's what we're trying to do."

The Redskins face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
