Jay Gruden has insisted that Alfred Morris's playing time will not be affected after the Washington Redskins selected Matt Jones in the third round of this year's NFL Draft.
Morris has been the NFC East side's starting running back since being drafted in 2012, recording a third-straight 1,000-yard rushing season during 2014.
The team's head coach told ESPN: "Alfred won't be affected. Alfred's still the running back here. He's had three great seasons and that won't change. But to add another guy that can come in here and pound the rock a little bit doesn't hurt anything.
"It'll help Alfred in that regard, taking some carries off him. For the most part Alfred will be getting the bulk of the carries and Matt will get some, too, obviously. He's a little bit different than what we've had around here."
Jones had 817 rushing yards off 166 carries and six touchdowns during his final college season with the Florida Gators.
