Washington Redskins' Robert Griffin III: 'I'm the best quarterback in the NFL'

Washington Redskins player Robert Griffin III says that he is the "best quarterback" in the NFL despite his struggles in the league over the past two seasons.

Robert Griffin III has claimed that he is the "best quarterback" in the NFL.

The Washington Redskins player was selected with the second overall pick in the 2012 Draft, and had an impressive first season in the league as he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year.

However, Griffin sustained a serious knee injury in the playoffs in 2012 and has not been able to rediscover his form for the Redskins, resulting in him being dropped for a period in the 2014 campaign.

Despite his struggles, the 25-year-old is adamant that he is the best signal-caller in the league.

"I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that," Griffin told WJLA-TV.

"Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be.

"There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."

Griffin has thrown for 8,907 yards and 40 touchdowns to 23 interceptions in his three years in the NFL.
