Late Justin Hunter touchdown secures Tennessee Titans victory

Wide receiver Justin Hunter scores a late 44-yard touchdown to secure a comeback win for the Tennessee Titans over the San Diego Chargers in the NFL.

A late touchdown from Justin Hunter has secured a dramatic comeback win for the Tennessee Titans over the San Diego Chargers in the NFL.

The Chargers and quarterback Philip Rivers continued their good start to the season when he drove his team down the field with a series of short completions before they took the lead with a 14-yard strike to Antonio Gates in the endzone.

Tennessee tried to get back at the Chargers with a drive on their own with running back Chris Johnson leading the way, but as they approached the endzone the visitors' defense stiffened and they forced kicker Rob Bironas into a field goal, which he nailed from 20 yards.

However, the Chargers got a chance to further extend their lead in the second quarter when they blocked a punt, but Rivers and his offense could not punch the ball into the endzone, leaving Nick Novak to kick a field goal to move the score to 10-3.

The Titans came back at San Diego with a drive of their own and this time they did get the touchdown they wanted when Locker himself ran after a play broke down into the endzone for a seven-yard touchdown.

After the break, the Chargers restored their despite good defending from the Titans as they kept Rivers's offense out on two downs on the one-yard line, but they could not stop running back Ronnie Brown on third down as he powered in for the touchdown.

In the fourth quarter the Titans dragged the score back to within four points as Bironas nailed a 37-yard field goal between the posts to give Mike Munchak's side hope.

Needing touchdown on the final drive, Locker saw his pass tipped up on second down, only for Chargers safety Marcus Gilchrist to drop the ball.

This proved to be crucial as two plays later Locker fired deep down the right-hand side of the field and found Hunter in the endzone for a 44-yard touchdown, as he made the catch over Richard Marshall to win the game for the hosts.
