Chris Johnson admits Tennessee Titans talks ongoing

Tennessee Titans running back says that contract talks between himself and the franchise are "at a standstill".

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has admitted that contract talks between himself and the franchise are still ongoing.

It is widely believed that Johnson will be released by the Titans if he does not agree to a pay cut, with the 28-year-old due to earn $8m (£4.78m) this season.

Via his personal Twitter account, Johnson said: "My agent and Titans front office had a talk yesterday and everything is still at a stand still, so it's a waiting game while I continue to grind."

Johnson was a first-round pick for the Titans in 2008 and has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his six NFL seasons so far.
