Richie Incognito cleared to return by NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith believes in giving players a second chance ahead of a possible agreement with guard Richie Incognito.

Former Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito has been cleared by the NFL to return to "full activity and regular-season game participation".

The 31-year-old was suspended last season following the bullying scandal and missed the final eight games of the campaign before becoming a free agent when his contract expired.

Incognito visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday although a deal is not expected to be immediately agreed upon as the franchise do their due diligence, according to ESPN.

Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith left the door open to a potential agreement, however, as he conceded that he believes in giving second chances.
