Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign Damaso Munoz

Damaso Munoz joins the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the off-season in the hope of securing a 2014 NFL contract.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Edmonton Eskimos linebacker Damaso Munoz to their off-season roster, the club have confirmed on their official website.

Munoz's only previous experience with the NFL was during a trial in 2010 with the Chicago Bears, and he has now been given a second chance to impress in order to earn a contract for 2014.

The head coach of the Bears when Munoz was on trial was Lovie Smith, who is now in charge of the Bucs, but the player has since spent three seasons in the Canadian Football League.

Munoz was the Eskimos' second-best defensive performer last season with 88 tackles and three sacks.
