Zac Stacy: 'Starting role would mean a lot'

St Louis Rams running back Zac Stacy admits that being given an increased role in his side's offence would mean a lot to him.

St Louis Rams running back Zac Stacy has admitted that being given an increased role in his side's running game would "mean a lot" to him.

Stacy has only had a single carry so far this season and was inactive in weeks two and three having joined the roster as a rookie during the off-season.

However, there has been speculation that Rams coach Jeff Fisher is thinking of switching up his attacking options following last weekend's rushing figures of just 18 yards on 19 carries, although he has denied that a decision on that matter has already been made.

"It would mean a lot. It would be a reflection of the coaches putting their trust in me, but my mentality coming into this thing is just being productive, being consistent week in, week out," Stacy told reporters.

The Rams have lost their last three games and will face the winless Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
