Seattel Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says that the team must work to reduce their number of failed drugs tests.

Pete Carroll has said that his Seattle Seahawks side must reduce breaches of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Defensive end Bruce Irvin recently became the seventh Seahawks player to fail a drugs test since 2011.

The team's head coach told reporters: "It's not right yet. We have to figure it out through education, or finding other ways.

"We're going to help [Irvin] as best we possibly can. He's made a tremendous commitment to try to do the right things and try to be right.

"He made a mistake. He admitted to it. He owned up to it to his teammates, he owned up to it to the staff and to everybody."

The Seahawks have the second highest rate of drugs suspensions in the NFL over the last two years.
