Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin not worried by youthful defense

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin insists that he is not worried about entering the 2015 season without a great deal of experience on his defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has declared that he is not fearful about entering the 2015 season with a youthful defense.

Veteran players Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor retired in the off-season, leaving the AFC North side with a lack of experience on the defensive side of the ball.

However, Tomlin has confidence that his side will not suffer as a result due to the talent they have on their roster.

"Young and defense are two things that I like," Tomlin told WAVY. "That's not a change that you fear. We've got some guys that are working really hard and are really talented.

"Unproven, yes, but that's why we play the game. I've been excited about watching them work and I look forward to watching them grow and grow together."

The Steelers open the 2015 season against the New England Patriots on September 10.
