Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau wants to continue next season

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau admits that he would like to continue coaching into next season despite his advancing years and criticism of his side's performances.

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has revealed that he would like to continue coaching next season despite his advancing years.

The 76-year-old - who has been in the NFL since 1959 - has been with the Steelers for the past 10 years but has drawn criticism for some of his defense's displays this season leading to speculation over his future with the club.

"I've been blessed to be able to coach this long, and I want to coach, obviously. Because I am a coach," LeBeau told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "Again, we'll have to see if people want you to coach.

"This is the time only to think about our players and getting them better. But I feel great. I feel strong, and we'll see if people want you to come back."

The Steelers are 5-8 in their season and their hopes of reaching the playoffs are all but over.
