Michael Nutter: 'Philadelphia would host best Super Bowl'

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter says that the city would be a better host for the Super Bowl than anywhere else.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has said that the city would be "better than anyone else" at hosting the Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia Eagles' president Don Smolenski announced earlier this week that the team would be interested in hosting the NFL showpiece in the future.

Mayor Nutter told NJ.com: "Heck, yeah, we want it, and we can do it better than anyone else.

"It would provide a substantial economic benefit to the city and its growing hospitality sector. It would mean an international focus on a city that is emerging as a desired destination for international visitors. And it would offer us the opportunity to market Philadelphia to a national audience.

"When it comes to doing big events and rolling out the red carpet, no city does it any better than the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection."

Host cities for the next three years have already been selected, while Minnesota, Indianapolis and New Orleans are the finalists for the 2018 game.
