Nick Foles to start against Oakland Raiders

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly confirms that Nick Foles will start Sunday's match against the Oakland Raiders having recovered from concussion.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has confirmed that Nick Foles will start Sunday's match against the Oakland Raiders at quarterback.

Kelly faced a potential selection crisis with usual first-choice Michael Vick ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury and Foles still recovering from concussion, leaving rookie Matt Barkley as the only fit quarterback on the active roster.

However, Foles has now been cleared to compete again following his head injury, and Kelly wasted no time in announcing that the 24-year-old would return to the starting lineup.

"Nick did really well. I know he was cleared, but we needed to see him. I was really happy with how Nick practised yesterday," Kelly told reporters.

"One of the good things about practising on Tuesday is you can get your eyes on people who have been out. Nick did a really good job and Nick will be our starting quarterback this week."

The Eagles are currently on a two-match losing streak and sit second in the NFC East behind the Dallas Cowboys.
