Nick Foles still sidelined with injury

Philadelphia Eagles star Nick Foles remains sidelined with a collarbone injury and he will miss the game against the Washington Redskins.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will not be available to play against the Washington Redskins on Saturday, coach Chip Kelly has confirmed.

Foles's collarbone was examined on Monday and, while it is healing, he is still unable to be subjected to football contact until the bone has completely healed.

"The bone is not healed," Kelly told reporters. "He'll start throwing a little bit more, but he's out for right now. He's not cleared and will not play this week.

"Until he gets fully healed, he's not going to be able to play with it. We think he'll be able to throw a little more this week, but we can't have anyone near him with contact."

Foles fractured the collarbone on his left side during the Philadelphia's game against the Houston Texans on November 2. He had previously completed 186 of 311 passes for 2,163 yards so far this season.

The Eagles signal-caller has thrown for 13 touchdowns and has 10 interceptions in his eight starts, and Mark Sanchez is expected to continue to deputise for him.
