Menelik Watson ready to adapt to Oakland Raiders practice

Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson says that he is ready to adapt to practice again after recovering from a calf injury.

Menelik Watson has said that he is ready to get used to practice again after returning from injury.

The Oakland Raiders offensive tackle missed the start of training camp with a calf injury, aggravating the problem earlier this month during his first practice with the team.

The Briton told the team's website: "Great time to get back in it. It's been a long process, took longer than I thought, but it was good to get out there, get a couple reps. It's been good.

"I've been able to get in the playbook, get my head around that. I'm confident in all that stuff now. Now I just have to put a couple days together and keep building on that.

"I have to get used to hitting again, obviously, that's important. At camp you get in that mode where you're just hitting and your body gets adapted to it, so couple hard days practice. As far as the plays and the playbook, I'm right there."

Watson was selected by the Raiders in the second round of this year's draft.
