The Colts were the first to score in the opening quarter when Reggie Wayne latched onto a 12-yard pass from quarterback Andrew Luck for a touchdown, with placekicker Adam Vinatieri delivering the kick to add an extra point and take the scores to 7-0.

With the second quarter underway, the Colts doubled their lead following another touchdown, this one coming after Dwayne Allen picked up another great pass by Luck from 20 yards, leaving Vinatieri to kick and make the score 14-0.

The Raiders hit back in the last five minutes of the second quarter with a touchdown from Darren McFadden, which allowed Sebastian Janikowski to kick for an extra point and bring the score to 14-7 at half time.
