Rex Ryan hails New York Jets' resilience

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is delighted with his side's resilience after they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 18-17 with a field goal two seconds from time.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has heaped praise upon his side's resilience after they edged to a shock win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL.

Nick Folk kicked a 48-yard field goal with just two seconds left to play to give the Jets an 18-17 win over the Buccaneers, who had thought that they had sealed the victory with a late field goal of their own through Rian Lindell.

However, rookie quarterback Geno Smith made two big plays in a row before winning a 15-yard penalty that brought Folk within kicking range and allowed his side to claim a win.

"Man, oh man. We talk about a resilient group, and we certainly have it," Ryan told The AP.

"We fought all the way to the end. One team, one fight, well, there it is. Holy cow. Man, I mean, we'll take it. There's no question."

The Jets will face the New England Patriots in their second match of the season, while the Buccaneers will host the New Orleans Saints.
