NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath believes that New York Jets quarterback Michael Vick is a better player than his rival Geno Smith.
While the Jets have yet to officially name their starting quarterback for the new season, Vick has been labelled as a veteran to push forward Smith's development.
"Of course, the coaches are going to decide who's out there, but, boy, I don't know any football fan that's been around for nine or 10 years that doesn't think Michael will be outstanding and probably is the best player at this time," Namath said, ESPN reports.
Namath added that provided Vick stays healthy, he expects the former Philadelphia Eagles star to be named as a starter for the first game of the season.
