New York Jets are no clearer as to who will be their starting quarterback next season.

The battle between quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith over who will start for the New York Jets next season is no closer to being resolved, according to QB coach David Lee.

Lee said that both players are learning new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg's style at a similar rate, but expects things to be more clear before the 2013 season.

"We'll know when we know," Lee is quoted as saying by Yahoo!. "However, we don't know right now.

"They've done it together and they haven't made it easy. They won't separate right now, but we've got time."

"We'll continue to look at both of them, split reps, and as soon as we know, 'hey, he's the guy,' we'll let you know. Right now, we don't know."

Smith was a second-round pick in the 2013 draft, while Sanchez has been in the league for five years.
