Tom Coughlin hails Antrel Rolle message

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin praises Antrel Rolle after the safety issued a rallying cry to his teammates.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has hailed Antrel Rolle's comments in a team meeting after the safety asked to speak in front of the squad.

Rolle issued a rallying cry to his side after Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs left the Giants 0-4 for the season.

Rolle, who is one of the team's captains, spoke in front of his colleagues during the meeting, and Coughlin was happy with the message that the two-time Pro Bowler imparted.

"He's had a couple of messages today. One is that he feels tighter and more connected to these players right now than he ever has, that he knows our back is against the wall," Coughlin told reporters.

"He's not afraid of that circumstance. He's kind of put his arms around this team and asked the members of this team to accept and understand that as well.

"And they know full well that when you take the field as a unit and you really do feel as if you represent one another and have each other's back, you've got to totally believe that you have the ability to succeed, and I thought that was a good message today."

The Giants will look to get their first win of the season when they face the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Sunday.
