Reggie Wayne: 'I joined the New England Patriots to win'

New England Patriots wide receiver Reggie Wayne admits that he joined the club out of a desire to win in the twilight of his career.

Reggie Wayne has declared that he has joined the New England Patriots to "win".

The 36-year-old signed a one-year deal with Bill Belichick's men after spending the first 14 seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, winning one Super Bowl in the 2006 campaign.

However, after he was released by the AFC South side in the off-season, Wayne has revealed that he was determined to continue his career.

Wayne told reporters: "I want to win, point-blank. Something new for me, and I'm looking forward to the journey.

"Sitting at home in Miami, just constantly getting that itch; the longer I waited, the harder it was going to be. I think it's right on time. I have to go back to school and try to figure out [everything]."

Wayne has recorded 1,070 receptions for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns in his 14 years in the NFL.
