Tom Brady takes blame for New England Patriots defeat

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady takes the blame for his side's 35-28 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles for throwing two costly interceptions.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has conceded that he was to blame for his side's defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Patriots lost their second game on the bounce as they allowed a 14-point lead to slip by conceding 35 straight points to the NFC East side to succumb to a 35-28 defeat at Gillette Stadium.

Brady threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a 99-yard touchdown, in the contest and he has admitted that he cannot afford to make those mistakes in the future.

He told reporters: "I've got to make good decisions with the ball. If I turn the ball over twice, I don't think we're going to have the chance to win many games. That's what it comes down to.

"The team trusts you to put the ball in your hands and make good decisions with it, and that was a terrible decision. It's unfortunate because those cost you the game, and I've got to do a better job."

The Patriots dropped to third seed in the AFC following their defeat.
