New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has revealed that he and coach Bill Belichick made peace to allow for his return to the club.
The 27-year-old left the Patriots at the end of the 2013 season and took several parting shots at the AFC East side before his move to the Buffalo Bills.
However, Spikes was allowed to leave Buffalo after just one campaign with the club, and was brought back to New England as the linebacker and Belichick talked through their differences.
He told reporters: "We can clearly see that me and 'The Hoodie' kissed and made up. I'm here. That's in the past. I'm moving on. So that's dead.
"Like I said, when 'The Hoodie,' we talked, [we said] 'Let's put it all behind us'. I was a bit surprised to hear his voice the way I left.
"But, like I said, that's in the past and, honestly, I'm very thankful to be here. I just want to show him I've changed as an individual, as a man. And I'm going to just show him. More than saying, I'm going to just show him."
Spikes has recorded 340 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions in his five-year NFL career.
