Logan Mankins not shocked by trade move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Logan Mankins admits that he wasn't overwhelmed by the surprise of his move to the club in a trade from the New England Patriots.

Logan Mankins has admitted that he wasn't surprised by his shock trade move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the New England Patriots.

The 32-year-old's nine-year stay with Bill Belichick's side was brought to an abrupt end on Tuesday when he was traded to the Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick in the 2015 Draft and tight end Tim Wright.

Mankins told reporters: "Still taking it in. It's different. I'm still taking it all in. I just got the playbook today and so I'm running through that as well with a bunch of the guys. Had questions for them. We'll find out more in the next week or so.

"I didn't know it was going to happen the way it did. But it's not a shocker. Once you've been around this business long enough, anything is a possibility.

"It's a business first and foremost. Guys play it because they love it, but it is a business, and if you don't understand that it's a business, you're lying to yourself. You have to be prepared for whatever happens in this league at any time."

Mankins has been named an All-Pro five times in his NFL career since entering the league in 2005.
