Bill Belichick "proud" of New England Patriots win

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is "proud" of his side after they launched a late comeback to beat the Buffalo Bills.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has expressed his pride having seen his side clinch a late win in their opening match of the NFL season.

The Patriots were trailing the Buffalo Bills until late on when Tom Brady led a drive upfield that brought his side within field goal range. Stephen Gostkowski made the 35-yard kick with less than 10 seconds remaining to hand his side a 23-21 victory.

"I was proud of our team today. Obviously, it wasn't perfect, and there's a lot of things we can do better, but they played the last few minutes of the game the way we needed to play it," Belichick told The AP.

The result extends the Patriots' dominant record over the Bills in recent meetings, with Belichick's side winning 19 of the last 20 and 24 of the 27 games since he took over as coach in 2000.
