Joe McKnight ruptures Achilles tendon

The Kansas City Chiefs are dealt a blow as running back Joe McKnight ruptures his Achilles tendon during practice and is expected to miss the entire NFL season.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been dealt a blow after running back Joe McKnight ruptured his Achilles tendon during practice on Thursday.

The injury means that the player will likely miss the entire season, with the news coming only a few days after he shone as Kansas overcame the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Such was the player's importance in the victory, he notched six passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns, which were the first offensive points of his NFL career.

The Chiefs' next encounter sees them face the New England Patriots on Tuesday.
