Norv Turner: 'Adrian Peterson important to Minnesota Vikings' success'

Norv Turner believes that running back Adrian Peterson will be important to his offense in the future.

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner has admitted that running back Adrian Peterson will have a big say in any success that the club may have in the near future.

Turner, who was head coach of the San Diego Chargers while Peterson impressed against his side, said that the player was looking forward to working with him.

"I've seen him at his best first-hand," Turner told ESPN. "I don't know how you can compare guys at that level because they all have their own way of doing things."

"He's talked to people I've coached and been with. I think he understands that the biggest thing to me is we're trying to win. He's at a point in his career where he'd like to go, number one, be in the playoffs, and number two, have success in the playoffs and ultimately win a championship.

"I think he's at a point in his career where he's done a lot of things in individual goals and accomplishments. And he expressed that whatever it takes for us he wants to do."

Peterson has spent all seven years of his NFL career at Minnesota.
