Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson has said that "the sky is the limit" for running back Jamaal Charles.

The 26-year-old recorded 1,509 rushing yards in 2012, despite the Chiefs finishing the season with the worst record in the NFL.

Pederson told Fox Sports: "Really, I think the sky is the limit with him with what we're trying to do.

"You've seen him sprint out of the single receiver, and he'll come out of the backfield. He's a guy that needs to move around, and [one] you can put in different positions, motion out the back, shift him from the backfield.

"He catches the ball so well that you have to take advantage of that offensively."

Charles has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in three of his first five seasons in the NFL.
