The Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs continue to prepare for their game tomorrow, despite a Chiefs player committing suicide at Arrowhead Stadium.

The NFL has advised the Carolina Panthers to travel to their game at the Kansas City Chiefs, despite Arrowhead Stadium currently being cordoned off following a shooting.

A Chiefs player, understood to be 25-year-old linebacker Jovan Belcher, shot himself at the training facility at Arrowhead this morning.

Police are linking the incident to another shooting, in which it is reported that Belcher's girlfriend was shot dead.

Darin Snapp of the Kansas City police told NFL.com: We arrived and the lady there informed us that her daughter had been shot by her on-again, off-again boyfriend. The young woman was taken to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.

"Officers arrived, saw a black man with a gun to his head, and some Chiefs employees. As the officer got out of his car, he heard a gunshot. It appeared the individual shot himself. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead."

The Chiefs and Panthers are continuing to prepare for tomorrow's game.
