Indianapolis Colts star Hakeem Nicks has insisted that he still believes himself to be the "best receiver in the league" despite a slow start at the franchise.
After seeing his career stall with the New York Giants, Nicks had hoped that a move to Indianapolis would provide him with a fresh start.
However, despite playing in just 57% of the snaps, he is tied for seventh with rookie Donte Moncrief on the team with 94 receiving yards.
"I still view myself as the best receiver in the league," Nicks said in The Indianapolis Star.
"That expectation ain't never going to change. I'll get a chance to prove it eventually."
Nicks concedes that he will have to be patient as quarterback Andrew Luck has targeted seven players at least 14 times this season.
Luck leads the NFL in yards with 1,305 and touchdowns at 13, with the likes of TY Hilton and Reggie Wayne emerging as two of the more dangerous playmakers.
