Gary Kubiak: 'Ed Reed entering last step of recovery'

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak says that safety Ed Reed is heading into the final step of his recovery from hip surgery.

Gary Kubiak has said that Ed Reed is heading into the final stage of his recovery from hip surgery.

The safety, who joined the Houston Texans earlier this year, underwent the operation during the off-season.

The head coach told reporters: "Ed will be back. Actually, we're going to send Ed to the surgeon to take the last look at him in Vail. I can't remember his name, Philippon I think, but that's going to be the last step.

"That's going to be the last step and then he'll be back for good and we'll start working toward hopefully getting back on the field."

The 34-year-old made 58 tackles and four interceptions for the Baltimore Ravens last season.
