Report: Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett ruled out for season

Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett is reportedly ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle sustained in his side's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett has been ruled out for the season, according to reports.

The 25-year-old sustained a torn pectoral muscle in his side's defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday after going into the match with a minor chest injury.

The injury picked up by Mallett has been deemed serious enough to end his season, just two matches after he assumed the starting role at the club from Ryan Fitzpatrick, report several media outlets.

Mallett joined the Texans in August from the New England Patriots in a trade deal.
