Aaron Rodgers injured in Green Bay Packers defeat

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffers a shoulder injury on the first drive of his side's eventual shock defeat to the Chicago Bears.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was forced off the field during his side's 27-20 defeat to the Chicago Bears last night with a shoulder injury.

Rodgers picked up the injury to his left shoulder on the very first drive of the game when he was sacked by Bears defensive end Shea McClellin.

The 29-year-old received treatment on the field before being replaced by Seneca Wallace, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy revealed that they would have to conduct more tests before they could give an accurate estimate on how long Rodgers will be sidelined for.

"Just had a chance to speak with Aaron; he has a shoulder injury. They want to run more tests. They don't have an exact diagnosis. No timeline, no exact diagnosis," McCarthy told reporters.

The defeat was the Packers' first at home this season and leaves three teams tied at the top of the NFC North with 5-3 records.
