Aaron Rodgers has said that he has "appreciated" taking fewer snaps during the Green Bay Packers' training camp this year.
The 29-year-old, who is the highest-paid player in the league, is preparing for his ninth season with the NFC North champions.
The quarterback told the team's website: "It's been a lot lighter, and I've appreciated it. Last year there were times when [the first-team offense] took 60 out of 70 snaps in practice. That's tough for anybody, whether you're in year one or year eight.
"I feel like I'm where I should be. I'm the longest tenured Packer here. I've seen a lot. I'm playing obviously fast, but my mind is slow, which is where you want to be when you're in live drills. I like the vibe of this team. I like the atmosphere surrounding this locker room.
"If we can have a balanced attack this year, I think that means sustained, consistent play, and that's what we're looking for."
The Packers play the St Louis Rams on Saturday evening.
