Green Bay Packers claim receiver Chris Harper

The Green Bay Packers claim wide receiver Chris Harper off waivers following his release by the San Francisco 49ers.

The Green Bay Packers have completed the signing of free agent wide receiver Chris Harper after claiming him off waivers.

The rookie is on his third NFL team of the year after initially being drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 Draft by the Seattle Seahawks before being released.

Harper was then signed by the San Francisco 49ers but was subsequently cut before being signed to the Packers.

Mike McCarthy's side were in need of depth at receiver as they only have three healthy players at the position following injuries to James Jones and Randall Cobb.

As a result of Harper's signing the team released running back Michael Hill to keep their roster at the 53-man limit.
