Mike McCarthy: Aaron Rodgers has "slim" chance of Detroit Lions return

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy admits that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a "slim" chance of playing against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has revealed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers's chances of playing in his side's game on Thursday are "slim to none".

The 29-year-old has been out with a broken collarbone for the past three weeks but is slowly making strides in his recovery.

However, the head coach is reluctant to put him out on the field against the Detroit Lions.

"He would like to go," McCarthy told ESPN. "I would say he's slim to none. That's what I'm thinking."

The Packers are 5-5-1 in their season following their tie with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
