John Harbaugh defends Matt Elam hit on Randall Cobb

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh defends safety Matt Elam for his hit on Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has defended safety Matt Elam over his tackle on Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb on Sunday.

Cobb was forced to leave the game in the second quarter after being hit in the right knee by Elam, and Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that he would miss "multiple weeks" with the injury.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reacted angrily to the tackle and confronted Cobb after the play, but Harbaugh did not see anything untoward on his player's part.

"I think Matt made a tackle. He was scrambling to try to catch up with that route as best as he could. To say that it could have been artistically palatable is pretty hard for me to understand," ESPN quotes Harbaugh as saying.

Green Bay went on to win the match 19-17 despite a late comeback by the Ravens.
