Golden Tate eyeing big season at Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate wants to produce better statistics than last season with the Seattle Seahawks, despite being part of their Super Bowl-winning team.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate believes that he will be able to accomplish a lot more on a personal level next season at his new club.

Tate was part of the Seattle Seahawks side that won the Super Bowl in the 2013 campaign, although he scored only five touchdowns in the season as they played mainly through running back Marshawn Lynch.

However, the 25-year-old feels that he will have an opportunity to post more impressive numbers next season, playing in a different system alongside side All-Pro Calvin Johnson.

"I hated being tackled [last year] because I didn't know when my next ball was going to come. I have a chance to catch more balls and make Pro Bowls," Tate told ESPN.

"I think if I can stay healthy, God forbid, it's going to be fun. I have a chance to catch a ton more balls. I'm going to see a lot of single coverage.

I'm probably going to see a lot of number two and number three cornerbacks because everyone's going to be on number 81 [Johnson]. I'm excited. I think the sky's the limit. I think it's going to get back to the old Golden."

Tate recorded 64 receptions for 898 yards along with five touchdowns last season.
