Danny Trevathan ruled out for two months

Danny Trevathan suffers a fractured knee during practice with the Denver Broncos but promises to return ahead of schedule.

Denver Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks after fracturing his left knee during practice.

The 24-year-old had an MRI scan after he was withdrawn from the field, revealing a left medial tibial impaction fracture. However, there was relief that the damage wasn't more serious.

"The doctor told me I was going to be out four to eight weeks, but I told him four to six. I'm not tripping. I will bounce back. I'm a soldier," Trevathan said, ESPN reports.

Trevathan led the Broncos with 124 tackles last season and has established himself as a key component of the Denver defense.
