Peyton Manning has said that the Indianapolis Colts will be "excellent opponents" for the Denver Broncos in the opening week of the 2014 NFL season.
Last season's beaten Super Bowl finalists will face the AFC South champions, who ended the Broncos' unbeaten start to the 2013 campaign, at Sports Authority Field in the Sunday primetime game in week one.
The quarterback, who won the league's MVP award for the fifth time last year, told reporters: "I had a pretty good feeling that game would be on TV.
"It's a tough schedule with three playoff teams right off the bat and we play the Colts right at the start. They're a good team, they were right there at the end and we know they'll be an excellent opponent."
Manning spent 14 seasons with the Colts before joining the Broncos ahead of the 2012 season.
