Peyton Manning breaks NFL passing touchdown record

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning breaks the NFL record for the most passing touchdowns in the history of the league by a single player with his 509th strike.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has broken the NFL record for the most passing touchdowns in the history of the league this evening.

The 38-year-old notched his 509th strike in his 17-year career as he fired to Demaryius Thomas in the endzone in his side's win over the San Francisco 49ers at Sports Authority Field.

Manning surpassed the feat of former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who had held the record since moving past Dan Marino in the 2007 season.

The 10-time All-Pro broke the NFL record for passing yardage in a single season last year with 5,477 yards, and also Tom Brady's passing touchdown record in a single campaign with 55 strikes in 2013.
