John Moffitt prepares NFL comeback after drug battle

John Moffitt hopes to make an NFL comeback following a two-year battle with drugs, according to friend Jay Glazer.

Former Denver Broncos guard John Moffitt is ready to return to the sport, according to his close friend Jay Glazer.

The 28-year-old quit the NFL in 2013 to battle drug issues, but he is now clean and ready to resume his career.

Glazer, who works for Fox Sports, wrote on Twitter: "I have never been so proud of a guy I've trained than I am of John Moffitt. Retired two years ago [because] he knew he had drug issues, took time to go to rehab, clean up his life, beat his demons and he has taken his life back!

"Guy inspires us every day. He came to me three months ago at [the gym]. Unbreakable to train to take his career back. He's become the favourite of every player in our gym. He officially un-retired today. Free agent starting guard. So proud of him to get here."

Moffitt played just twice for the Broncos after he signed from the Seattle Seahawks.
