Denver Broncos head coach John Fox targets return this season

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox is eyeing a return to the sidelines this season despite undergoing heart surgery just last week.

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has targeted a return to the sidelines this season despite undergoing heart surgery last week.

Fox collapsed on a golf course during his side's bye week and had to undergo an aortic valve replacement last Tuesday, which is expected to leave him out of action for six weeks.

He has been replaced temporarily as head coach by defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, but with his side bound for the playoffs he is hopeful that he can make a comeback.

Fox told reporters: "Oh yeah, I don't think there is any question. There's always a question — that's why I don't like putting timelines, but my goal and dream is to be there obviously before the conclusion of this season."

The Broncos are 9-1 in their season going into week 11.
