Denver Broncos' Ryan Clady says that he will need five to six months to recover from shoulder surgery.

Ryan Clady has said that he faces a five to six-month recovery process after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Denver Broncos lineman, who is also the subject of contract negotiations, underwent an operation to repair a torn rotator cuff, and has said that he expects to miss much of the off-season while recovering.

The 26-year-old told ESPN: "There's no way I'm going to be in minicamps this year because I won't be ready shoulder-wise [even] if I do get a deal done by then.

"In other words, I'm planning for [shoulder rehab], so I'm not going to be there, regardless if I don't get a deal done still. Even if I get a deal done, my chances are I probably wouldn't do much in training camp. About that time, I should be just about 100% around July or August, in that area.

"I know I will have a job at least for one more year so, I'm still good. I would like to have long-term security in Denver, but if I don't get anything done before the deadline then who knows."

Clady started all 16 games for the Broncos during the 2012 regular season.
