Tony Romo: 'Jason Garrett is one of the best head coaches in the NFL'

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo believes that Jason Garrett is one of the best head coaches in the NFL for guiding the club back to the post-season.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has hailed head coach Jason Garrett for guiding his side back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2009 season.

The Cowboys ended their four-year post-season drought as they powered past the Indianapolis Colts with a 42-7 victory at AT&T Stadium to clinch the NFC East title.

Romo feels that owner Jerry Jones has been vindicated for sticking with Garrett after three straight years of recording only eight wins.

"Jason is the best head coach in the league that no-one talks about," Romo told reporters. "I mean, he's really gifted at his ability to communicate to his players. He's got a great mind for the game of football.

"One of the best things Jerry [Jones] has done was just stand by him and let his system, his mantra, his philosophy play itself out. I think that you're seeing the dividends. You're reaping the rewards of having him stay in place.

"Jason is going to figure it out. He's as good of a coach as I've ever been around. He's special."

The Cowboys currently hold the number three seed in the NFL going into the final week of the season.
