Johnny Manziel: 'I'm surprised by media attention and reaction'

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel says that he's "just living a normal life", after he was pictured partying in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has admitted his surprise at the media attention his weekend trip to Las Vegas has received.

Manziel's commitment was questioned by a number of NFL analysts after pictures emerged of him partying with New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and 10 supermodels.

Browns coach Mike Pettine defended Manziel's actions, and the youngster himself has been stunned by the reaction the story has had.

"I'm very surprised it's actually a story," Manziel told reporters. "I've been in here every day working extremely hard trying to earn my place and do what I need to do.

"For me to get a free weekend, and get to spend some time with friends and family of mine, and just have fun and relax and get away from the grind a little bit, and then come back to work and do what I'm supposed to do - I don't really feel that's a story.

"For some reason, wherever I go, people want to take pictures. And they think I'm doing something wild when I'm just living a normal life."

Manziel came to prominence during the 2012 college football season, when he ended up winning the Heisman Trophy after being the star man for the Texas A&M Aggies.
