Johnny Manziel has admitted that he needs to "play better" in order to earn praise for his performances in the NFL.
The rookie quarterback made his first start for the Cleveland Browns last weekend, but led the team to a shutout 30-0 defeat against their AFC North rivals the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 22-year-old told reporters: "If you want to talk a big game and have all this hype around you you have to play better."
Manziel will remain the team's starter for their game against the Carolina Panthers this weekend.
