Hue Jackson: 'I would have been good fit at Buffalo Bills'

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson feels that he would have been a good fit at the Buffalo Bills before the franchise hired Rex Ryan.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson has claimed that he would have been a good fit at the Buffalo Bills for their head coaching position.

Jackson interviewed for the role after Doug Marrone opted out of his contract with the Bills at the end of the season, but the franchise decided to hire former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan instead.

"I thought it was the right fit, the right situation. I had a good working knowledge of what they are trying to do, but, hey, it didn't work out," Jackson told reporters.

"Everybody has aspirations, but it's still got to be the right fit. It's got to be the right situation. Every head coaching job in the National Football League might not be for me and I might not be for everybody. I think when it's time it will happen.

"Until then, I have a really good offensive football team here that, if we can get some luck and stay healthy, we can be one of the better offenses."

Jackson was formerly head coach of the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 and guided the club to an 8-8 record.
