Cincinnati Bengals punter Kevin Huber has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken jaw and an injured neck.
Huber suffered the injury when he was hit by Terence Garvin while on punt coverage during the Bengals' 30-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, a block that helped Antonio Brown to go on and score a touchdown.
The Bengals initially announced that the 28-year-old, who is also the team's holder for place kicks, had fractured his jaw, but subsequent X-rays have since shown that he also suffered a cracked vertebra in his neck.
The block was not flagged by the match officials at the time, but the league have since confirmed that they are reviewing the the play.
Huber will now be placed on injured reserve and is not expected to be fit again until the start of next season.
